Statement to the UN Expert Mechanism for Rights of Indigenous Peoples'

On 17 June 2025, InSAF India delivered an oral statement on the ongoing state violence in Bastar, Chhattisgarh, central India in Item 11 of the UN Expert Mechanism for Rights of Indigenous Peoples' 18th Annual Session, Geneva. We requested EMRIP to include the ongoing conflict affecting the indigenous Adivasi peoples of Bastar region of central India in their proposed theme of indigenous peoples in conflict situations in their future work. The intervention can be heard at the time of 1:42:35 into the session here:
